The purpose of this privacy policy is to formalize our commitment to respect the privacy of the users of our augmented reality game/application « AR Shooter ».

This privacy policy applies to the augmented reality game/application «AR Shooter » and to all the services it provides, which we here collectively call the Service, the Game or the Application.

The Application is built using the Unity Game Engine and AR Foundation utilizing:

What data does the Application collect and how is it used?

User provided information

The Application does not require any user registration and it does not require the user to provide any personal information.

Use of device’s camera

When playing the Game in Augmented Reality mode, the Application requires the use of the device’s camera.

The camera is used in the unique purpose of enabling Augmented Reality (AR) content on the device’s screen. All AR tasks are performed on the device and no related data is stored, nor sent over the Internet to a server, nor shared with a third party. The Application does not use cloud based AR services, and it does not transmit images.

Automatically Collected information

No personal information (such as full name, physical address, email address, telephone number, …) is collected by the Application.

The Game makes use of an analytical data gathering service (“Unity Analytics”) provided by Unity Technologies and its subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively “Unity”) to measure and analyze players’ usage of the Game and how they progress through it.

As an example, the data we collect includes, but is not limited to, the following game-related indicators: challenges played by the user (including score), free games played by the user (including score and settings, such as target, projectile, game mode), game elements unlocked by the player using gold coins…

The collected data is only processed internally by ourselves (KaiKai SAS), in order to understand the players’ experience in the game, and ultimately to improve it.

In addition, the Unity Analytics service automatically collects certain device information in an attempt to uniquely identify game installs and for statistical analysis. According to Unity’s privacy policy, “the developer of the game has ongoing access to this data. Other Unity customers may have access to aggregated reports about game activity in general across a number of games.” This information includes (but might not be limited to) the following:

  • Unique device identifier generated from the device MAC/IMEI/MEID, which they alter to limit the ability to identify the relevant device in the future;
  • IP address, which can be used for inferring the country / region of use (but NOT the exact location).;
  • Device manufacturer and model;
  • The operating system and version running on your system or device;
  • Language;
  • The make of the CPU, and number of CPUs present;
  • The graphics card information, such as type, vendor and driver name, version and graphics API;
  • Amount of system and video RAM present;
  • Current screen resolution;
  • Operating system identifier (e.g., Mac, Windows, etc.);
  • A checksum of all the data that gets sent to verify that it did transmit correctly; and
  • App ID of the game installed.

The Unity privacy policy states: “We primarily use the information we collect to provide, administer, operate and improve our Services. We may use your information for the following purposes:

  • To perform analytics and research aimed at improving the accuracy, effectiveness, usability, or popularity of products and services that Unity and Developers provide;
  • To create and share statistics and reports regarding aggregate usage of Unity-powered apps;”

All information gathered is aggregated and anonymized. Employees and affiliates of KaiKai SAS and Unity have no way of using information collected from the game to personally identify you.

How do we disclose the collected data?

We (KaiKai SAS) use information gathered manually and automatically by Unity Analytics for the sole purpose of improving the Game by analyzing how players progress through it. Information collected will never be sold to, or shared with, a third party; it will never be used for any purpose that does not directly involve improving the Application.

How long is the collected data retained?

We (KaiKai sas) strive to ensure that data is only retained for the period necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected and is fully deleted when no longer required.

Unity Technologies is responsible for the storage of data collected by the Unity Analytics service.

How to opt out?

You have the right to object to data collection, which effectively stops any kind of data collection altogether. You can use your right to object to stop the Game from collecting any data, by going to the Options/Settings menu from within the game, and tapping on the Privacy button. You will be presented with a page from which you will be able to Opt-out permanently from data collection.

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) compliance

We (KaiKai SAS) do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone, including from children under the age of 13. We do not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Unity Analytics generates an anonymized user ID for each user in the Game. Unity does not use any of these IDs generated from apps directed to children under 13 (Child Apps) to track users across apps built by other developers or to map users between different services, devices, or browsers on the same computer. In addition to these IDs, Unity Analytics also collects the following personal information from Child App users: IP address and device identifiers (IDFV, Android device ID or IMEI if Android device ID is unavailable).
