KaiK'eye - Privacy Policy

The purpose of this privacy policy is to formalize our commitment to respect the privacy of the users of our augmented reality application « KaiK’eye ».

This privacy policy applies to the augmented reality application « KaiK’eye » and to all the services it provides, which we here collectively call the Service or the Application.

 

What data does the Application collect and how is it used?

 

User provided information 

The Application does not require any user registration and it does not require the user to provide any personal information.

 

Use of device’s camera

The Application requires the use of the device’s camera. 

The camera is used to perform image recognition of specific markers. When the Application recognizes predefined printed markers, it computes and displays information based on the recognized markers.
This process is know as Augmented Reality (AR), and in this case it is performed on the device and no data is stored, nor sent over the Internet to a server, nor shared with a third party. The Application does NOT use cloud based services, and it does NOT transmit images.

 

Automatically Collected information 

The Application is built using the Unity game engine and Vuforia AR platform. 

 

The automatic collection of Data (including unique device identifiers and hardware statistics) by the Unity game engine’s Analytics services has NOT been enabled. 

 

The Vuforia AR platform (PTC Inc.) may collect the following information (collectively « statistics »):

  1. Information about the end users’ devices such as:
    • Make, model and firmware version of the user’s device
    • Operating system name and version number of the user’s device
    • Camera profile version
  1. Information about the Software used to create the Developer Application such as:
    • Vuforia API version
    • Vuforia license keys for mobile and digital eyewear licenses
    • Cloud Recognition client key for apps that utilize Cloud Recognition (This feature is not utilized by the « KaiK’eye » Application)
  1. Information about the Developer Application and its use such as:
    • Application bundle ID
    • Application distribution type
    • Application version, for tracking application upgrades
    • Application store identifier
    • Initial application session timestamp, for the first time an app is launched after being installed on a device
    • Vuforia feature usage events
    • Start Vuforia timestamp
    • Camera start time when Vuforia is running.
    • Recognition event type and timestamps
    • Tracker detection timestamp
  1. The IP address used by the end user’s device for the purpose of inferring the country / region of use (but NOT the exact location).
  2. Images submitted with Cloud Recognition queries in order to match image for a Recognition event (This feature is NOT utilized by the Application).
  3. The media access control address (MAC address) of the development system (NOT the user’s device) used to create the Developer Application for the purpose of generating a unique identifier for that system (Used with the Model Target Generator and with Unity Version 2017.2 and above)
  4. Information about the use of Vuforia Developer tools:
    • The number of Model Targets, trained and not trained, and number of Guide Views created with the Model Target Generator
    • Basic statistical information of the CAD models used in the Model Target Generator, in particular CAD source format, number of polygons and parts ( but not the CAD data itself) (NOT utilized by the Application).
    • Basic metrics on Area Targets created with the Area Target Generator, in particular the number of created targets, the area covered, the number of panoramas and number of scanning -points (This feature is NOT utilized by the Application).

 

PTC Inc. does not collect additional unique identifiers or personal information using our Application.

 

The Vuforia AR platform (PTC Inc.) uses the Statistics as follows. PTC and/or its affiliates and service providers may collect and use Statistics:

  • to provide the Software and Services,
  • to improve and optimize the Software and Services for different hardware and software requirements on various consumer devices (commonly referred to as device fragmentation),
  • to facilitate the provision of new products, updates, enhancements, technologies, and other services,
  • to improve the Software, the Services, and other products, services and technologies of PTC or its affiliates, and for any business purpose if de-identified and/or anonymized.

 

How do we disclose the collected data?

 

We (KaiKai sas) do not directly collect, nor share, any personal information with third party companies.

The Application is built using the Unity game engine and Vuforia AR platform. 

The automatic collection of Data by the Unity game engine has NOT been enabled.

Vuforia (PTC Inc.) uses collected Statistics for business purpose if de-identified and/or anonymized.

 

How long is the collected data retained?

 

We (KaiKai sas) do not directly collect, nor store, any personal information.

The Application is built using the Unity game engine and Vuforia AR platform. 

The automatic collection of Data by the Unity game engine has not been enabled.

PTC Inc. is responsible for the storage of data collected by the Vuforia AR platform.

 

How to opt out?

 

You can stop all collection of information by the Application by uninstalling it from your mobile device. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.

 

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) compliance

 

The Application is built using the Unity game engine and Vuforia AR platform. 

Data collection by the Unity game engine has NOT been enabled.

 

The Vuforia AR platform (PTC Inc.) collects Statistics which are listed in the « What data does the Application collect and how is it used? » section of this privacy policy. Statistics collection by the Vuforia AR platform include the IP address of the user’s device. No other personal information is collected by the Vuforia AR platform (PTC Inc.). The persistent identifier is collected for the purpose of inferring the country / region of use (but NOT the exact location of the user). The Statistics collected are used by the Vuforia AR platform (PTC Inc.) in the following ways:

  • to provide the Software and Services,
  • to improve and optimize the Software and Services for different hardware and software requirements on various consumer devices (commonly referred to as device fragmentation),
  • to facilitate the provision of new products, updates, enhancements, technologies, and other services,
  • to improve the Software, the Services, and other products, services and technologies of PTC or its affiliates, and for any business purpose if de-identified and/or anonymized.
