A smartphone on which the KaiK’eye app, available for free on the applications stores (App Store and Google Play), is installed. This smartphone is used to film the game board, it acts as the « game’s eye ».
A video game device with a screen on which the KaiKai game you want to play is installed. All KaiKai games can be downloaded from online application stores.
If you do not have access to a Wifi connection, you can use your phone to set up a personal hotspot, by activating the “Personal Hotspot” option available in your phone’s settings.
If a notification pops up, asking you to allow the app to use the phone's camera, click "accept". When the camera is activated, start filming the game board. While filming the board, move the phone over it until the green rectangle you see on the screen properly covers the board.
For the best gaming experience, the smartphone must properly see the board and pawns when players interact with them. Two play modes are possible:
One of the players handles the smartphone during the game and makes sure that she films the board whenever a player interacts with a pawn.
Place the smartphone on a classic tripod or on a self-built tower, following the KaiK’eye app’s guidance to adjust the phone’s height and tilt in relation to the printed board.
What you can do with a printer and scissors is amazing! To play, all you have to do is print (in color, in the given paper format and with the best quality offered by your printer) and cut out the elements required for the game. They can be downloaded directly from the webpage of the game you want to play.
